Smoothie a go go

Just got back from another night of swimming. It was a good swim. I don't feel as sore as yesterday I'm not sure if I didn't push myself hard enough or if my muscles well wake me up in the morning instead. We shall see.

What I did feel was sick from smelling the greasy chinese food next door to the gym. I was craving it last night but by tonight it just made me sick breathing that in. Enrique and I tried Alton Brown's Smoothie recipe this morning. I'll post it when I get a chance. It was yummy and kept us full. I was really surprised that he is so up to trying new healthy things. But he gulped away the Acai juice, soy, blue berries and other fruit away. So I hope we continue to push each to try new things for our health.

Moo Shu Swimming

I hit the gym today, I was going to hit in the morning but I stayed in bed a little longer and just dragged myself to go after work. It's a cruel world though, as I was swimming my laps I could smell the deliciously savory greasy Chinese food next door. Not even the heavy dose of chlorine could mask the images of friend egg roles and other tantalizing asian bites. No worries, I stayed away and went on a health food shopping spree at Costo instead. :) Got to be prepared, right?

Live Strong

I'm a WW drop out once again. I just didn't want to spend the $39.95 a month when I was missing meetings, and honestly would rather see what I consume and burn by calories not points. I may be back one day but for now, I am test drviing Livestrong.com website. I tried it a couple of times but I am going to to do a 30 day test run to really push myself to monitor my intake and burn of calories. Aside from the weighing in and website, WW was a great way to meet and vent to people dealing with similar issues. But I have that, I'm not a Fat Kid Loner. Luckily (but sadly), I have friends and family that share these same struggles and are also on their way to making changes in their lifestyle. I'll keep you posted.

Lost 7 pounds this week!

Woo Hoo! So happy when I weighed in at WW today. I've been working out and trying to keep track of what I eat. It's been hard at times especially when I stay up late.

My goal this week is to go to bed at a descent hour and hopefully with Enrique. I know he hates when I crawl in to bed really late. I have been walking around all day at UCI. I came down with him to see him battle at his LARP event. He really enjoys it and it makes me happy seeing him in his element. Until next time!

Back on the saddle again, again...and again!

So I only finished 6.5 miles of the 1/2 marathon in Las Vegas on 12/6/09. I was really bummed out. I can name you a bunch of really good excuses why I could not complete it but it just comes down to I was not prepared. I am determined to REALLY train for it and complete it this year.

I turned 33 a month ago and my biological and sanity clock is ticking very loadly now. I don't want to add age to another risk factor or cause for not being able to get pregnant. I need to just shut up and do it...but blog about it of course! :)

I walked .6 miles from bus stop to office. I'm taking metrolink now to get down to OC and it's a quick bus ride to my center, and a short walk from stop. So I'm going to use that as I add more fitness in to my days.
